Join me in my life's journey. I love God, I have my struggles, my achievements and my world. I love to cook and realize I love sharing food with others.

It's Almost April...
Warning: I am very hungry as I write this. So, lately I have been wondering about where I WANT my life to go. I cannot control what happens, but I can control the choices I make. I have to live with my choices whether they are right or wrong. If they are wrong, then I learn my lesson, hopefully! But most of the time, I am dealt with the consequences of my own choices. Usually, those consequences make me cringe and makes me want to scream and shout. Well, enough ranting...time to eat

the tale of two kitties
I think I am going to end up a cat lady. My bro has his cat, Rafiki (a boy, means friend in Swahili) and I have mine named Nyeusi (a girl, means Black). I love these two crazy cats, they keep me happy when I am sad, who needs a dog, they are so much more work. I am going to start writing short stories/novels again. I have so many ideas on Fiction, I just have to find more ideas and inspiration. I have taken many snippets of my life into my books, but I need to go beyond in order to be a better writer. Also any suggestions for a psuedo or alternate name? I want to keep my last name but I am thinking of using another name. Any suggestions? Ideas? Comments? Please feel free to tell me :)

Who are the real illegals?
So there is a lot of controversy in the senate right now for illegal immigration, everyone here is illegal, with the exception of Native Americans! How can anyone justify what the pioneers did to the Natives? They stole their land, relocated them to harsh environments, took their daughters and raped them, gave them diseases, and robbed them for all their worth. Yet, they treat us kindly, gently and with tolerance. I dread to think if that happened today, what would we do if we did not have these advanced weapons? We all belong to the Earth, we need to learn to accept one another and live in harmony. Not define borders, not have a money system (it's called barter trade), no religion too!

saving for my birthday
so I have done a lot of thinking, and I want to go kayaking for summer during my birthday. I am going to start saving money from now, and take a week or less off. I want to go to La Jolla and stay in a hotel/motel, even if I have to do it alone. However I also need save money because I will not have enough money for summer, I need to find a better paying job with stable hours.

Love others and it shall be returned
People do not realize what you ask the universe to give you, the universe will deliver! It is a simple idea, but it is a fact. Watch/read The Secret, and you will see what I mean. I am not very good at describing other people's ideas but I can tell you mine. Why would you want to waste your time in hating the people, things which are bad/evil? Why don't you choose love instead? Love your friends, family (I know it's hard), and everyone else. We do not practice true love in this world anymore, what is true love? The ability to wish someone well even if they did something bad. Have a little more empathy and try to do good! Counter evil with good, not tit-for-tat! I can only hope more people realize this. Love

Xmas and new ventures
So it's Christmas, all who believe in Christ will hopefully celebrate Him...as a Religious Studies major I can safely say that all the religions who believe in Christ whether as a Prophet or as a Son of God, should celebrate what He taught. Love, Kindness, Tenderness. Today I heard an amazing tape on the radio labeled "from God", the radio refers to it as "The God Tape" it's very touching. It goes something like

Please listen to it! It will truly make your day!
IN other news, I am reapplying for jobs abroad as an ESL teacher again. I think I have just been going around it with the wrong channels (i.e. the company was giving me shady answers). If I do not attempt and do not show my skills who will notice? Anyways, I could lament over how I could do things differently. I am not going to as I would not have progressed nor learned anything!

What not to do on a DATE!
Okay ladies, so I have been dating, and I like this guy, let's call him E (not his real name nor initial). So E and I have a mutual friend. After pondering and looking around, I began to realize I liked E more than a friend and I told our mutual friend X, and X set us up on a date. So after the 3rd date I finally told E that I like him more than a friend. We are still exploring where all this will lead, and it's all very early, but after the recent date...I am not so sure LOL. So, here's what I did WRONG and caused annoyances...NOTE: THIS is supposed to be poking fun at me and not E nor X...
Annoyance #1-We went at a little town (Claremont) and there was no "public" parking, so we had to park elsewhere. I wish we found the public parking that I had in mind.
Annoyance #2-He booted a flashdrive with linux system for me, and it did not run on my mac, despite him haven tried to compromise for my mac. Additionally, he stayed up late making that flashdrive for me.
Annoyance #3-He's borderline type 2 diabetic, and the yogurt place we went to did not have sugar-free stuff (on the website, it said it did!GRRR)
Annoyance #4-Since it was a small place and a lot of traffic, it made him uncomfortable and brought about his PTSD (he's a former marine)
Annoyance #5- I was mentally checked out, so when driving to another area, he was trying to make an exit and wanted my help to see if the road was clear. Thus, he said "help me" but I did not know what he meant nor did it register through my brain. 0-o
Annoyance #6-I almost fell after dinner...so the klutz factor came out....
so those were the main things I did wrong, however I know I did not have control over most of them. Not to mention, I had no idea that the town would bring out his PTSD...I WAS so embarrassed and felt so bad that I evoked those bad memories. Fortunately, E felt comfortable with me to voice these things as they happened. Therefore, he's good at communicating his feelings, emotions and in general. Yay! I did redeem myself by talking nerdy stuff (we are both into Star Trek: TNG, love computers, Star Wars, and other stuff)
